Welcome to the “Stories in the Stones” tour – a one-day immersive experience designed for tourists and corporate groups. Led by our guide. This tour takes you on a journey through the fascinating history and culture of the Sperrins region.

 

Your day will begin with a brief introduction by the guide, who will share their extensive knowledge of the Sperrins and set the stage for the adventures ahead. You’ll then embark on a guided visit to the Beaghmore stone circles, Creggan Devesky court tomb, and Peadar Haughey farm, where you’ll hear captivating stories about the archaeology and heritage of the area.

 

At the Bronze Age site at An Creagán, you’ll witness an ancient method of cooking as fish and oatcakes are baked on heated stones from a fire built using wood from the local forest. This is a unique opportunity to experience history come alive and indulge in some traditional local cuisine.

 

The tour culminates with a workshop led by our guide, where you’ll learn to use traditional tools to create replica artifacts, including an axe head and food container. With years of experience in delivering workshops in traditional crafts, gardening, and tree nursery skills, our guide will guide you through every step of the process.
